ORD-REST will hold an informational update meeting on Monday, September 21st, 2009 at The Park Ridge Public Library, 20 S. Prospect Avenue, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please plan on attending this meeting and please invite your friends and neighbors to attend as well. Jennifer Perry, chair of the newly appointed Park Ridge O’Hare Airport Commission, will be the keynote speaker reporting on meetings held this spring and late summer between Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and concerned residents of the Park Ridge community. Among the topics discussed with Congresswoman Schakowsky are implementation of a mandatory Fly Quiet program for O’Hare, reinstatement of flight caps, equitable distribution of flight paths across all runways, analysis and assessment on “raw” noise data from local noise monitors and coordination with other members of Congress whose constituents are also burdened with increased flights over their communities. Additional topics for this meeting will include a general update on current noise data (obtained from the ONCC meetings), next steps for ORD-REST and a general question/answer session. Please join us and bring your ideas, comments and concerns. We looking forward to seeing you on September 21st. |

The next public meeting of the O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission (ONCC) meeting is at 8:00 a.m., Friday, September 11th, 2009 at Rosewood Banquets – 9421 West Higgins Road, Rosemont. This is YOUR chance to express your concerns, openly, publicly. The ONCC is comprised of elected officials from the communities surrounding the airport. Its membership also includes the superintendents of most of the public schools in these same communities, the FAA and the Chicago Department of Aviation. It is CRITICALLY important that your voice is heard. Please plan on attending this meeting. And please craft a question that you believe is most important to you. When you enter the meeting, you’ll be asked to fill out a form with that question. Fill it out! Make your voice heard. |

In February 2009, ORD-REST obtained the entire Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), conducted for the O’Hare Modernization Plan. Residing on 37 discs, it is a time-consuming task to upload to our site, one which we are still working on! Just recently, in mid-April 2009, the FAA provided to us a 3 disc summary of the EIS – which contains an Executive Summary. While this is a more concise report, it is not the full EIS, which we will continue to upload. We will, however, post that 3 disc summary as soon as we can. The FAA has suggested we provide the following link to their website for anyone seeking additional information and we are happy to share that link as follows: http://www.faa.gov/airports_airtraffic/airport_development/omp/eis/ |

We just added a community document library to share documents of common interest for ORD-REST members. To browse, view, download, and upload files you need to first register on the site. All the files uploaded have to be approved first, so they won't be available for download immediately. The ORD-REST Team |
